These porous spherical synthesized quartz granules offer a large surface area of colonization (450 m2/L) for beneficial bacteria in the filter, which guarantees an optimal decomposition of organic matter present in the aquarium water. The rounded shape of the grains offers a higher charge density to take advantage of all of its surface, making possible greater number of bacteria in each area. Beneficial bacteria are able to more effectively reduce high values of nitrite. This substrate is very easy to clean and can be reused several times. To keep the aquarium water in perfect conditions must change the filter materials on a regular basis.
