Soft shell turtles especially prefer the fine sand for digging and make their dwellings. Other types of reptiles, aquatic and terrestrial, such as frogs and salamanders, also benefit from this product for its smoothness and softness. A rough surface, as the gravel, can ruin the tissue of the skin. This sand is very fine and can be easily expelled if ingested, unlike gravel or pebbles that may cause indigestion. Coming from a river in Africa, this sand is very fine and is an ideal and safe substrate for aquatic terrarium.
