"Night Glo" Moon light lampsThis lamp simulates the natural light of the Moon and allows a night vision without interfering with the day and night cycle of the animal. The light emitted is bluish due to the use of blue glass. The heat generated is minimal but sufficient to create natural tropical nighttime temperatures. Lamp simulates the natural light of the Moon Incandescent light bulbs The lamp of Moonlight (Night Glo) owns a glass dark blue allowing it to emit a similar to the Moon light. The Exo Terra Day Glo incandescent bulbs (with the exception of concentrated light lamps) have a glass sleeve made of neodymium, belonging to the rare earth metal that changes the color balance of lighting, offering a more natural appearance to terrariums, its decoration and its plants. All bulbs are manufactured in stained glass, thus avoiding that they decoloren or break as it is the case with other bulbs. This stained glass also increases the transfer of thermal radiation. Incandescent lamps are the most common source of lighting in a terrarium. Despite the fact that the incandescent lamp are more suitable as a source of heat as a light source, are the perfect way of supplementary light, that all reptiles need some form of heat radiation. In some cases, the incandescent lamps are sufficient as terrarium animals do not need excessive visual light based on their behaviour, for example the assets nocturnal reptiles, Arachnids and some amphibians. For some snakes is favourable only this type of lamps that do not need to ultraviolet radiation. Incandescent lamps are inadequate to produce type b ultraviolet light Lighting The sunlight reaches the top of the Earth's atmosphere with an approximate power of a kilowatt per square meter. In the whole electromagnetic spectrum, only ultraviolet light, visible light and infrared are important for breeding reptiles. In order to create these three aspects of sunlight artificially, there are different types of light bulbs. Reptiles need sunlight appropriate in order to maintain metabolic needs.
